Seaside Wedding

We would have trusted nobody else but you with such an important day. Thank you for making it magical.

Taking place in the family's hometown in Norfolk. The day was to have an informal & intimate feel, with attention to detail but without it feeling formal or over done. The venue needed dressing as it was spacious and felt quite cold.

The Wedding

The couple married at the local church, surrounded by ivy and candles in storm lanterns.

The colour scheme for the reception was ivory, turquoise & sepia and I included a subtle seaside theme. The flowers were a mixture of spring colours in keeping with the time of year & the country setting.

At the barn, guests entered the reception room decorated with birch trees. The occasional tables draped in sepia linen with limewash chairs with Mocha seat pads. On the occasional tables were bowls with floating flower heads. A harpist was playing to create instant atmosphere.

After the drinks, guests entered the dining room under an arch of birch. The room was pin-spotted to create ambient warm pools of light and the overhead chandeliers were turned off and covered with Ivy carrying through the country feel of the décor. The tables were draped in sepia linen with turquoise napkins & pebble placecards. The flowers were highlighted by pin spots to show off the vases with hand tied spring flowers and shells.

The tables were named after seabirds written in aqua ink to match stationery. Menus were part of the co-ordinated set to match the invitations and order of service.

The large window at the end of the room was draped in organzas to obscure the view and create an intimate atmosphere in the room - at night this created a wonderful shimmer. The cake was aqua with decor matching the theme.

After the meal and cake cutting, dancing commenced with a lively soul band. Lit Birch trees framed the stage. Guests could also spill through to the reception area where the trees had been lit with pea lights & floating candles placed in the bowls to create atmosphere and refresh the room from the day.

The venue said afterwards that it was the best wedding they had ever hosted!
